Me? I'm a huge fan of The Verve. They were a raw band smashed out on drugs, in the early days and always fightin each other! Made for great music, tho! They've got back together and releasin an album in Aug!

I look for life connection in lyrics on a deeper level. Not necessarily about sad things as a lot of 'sad' songs are really about the greatest hope! You just gotta understand what the words are sayin! Check out the psychedelic rock albums "A Northern Soul" and "Urban Hymns" from a few years ago. Oasis are rubbish, in comparison, although they've sold more.

Keane are also really good at this, but they're about bad experiences, mainly!

Songwriting bands are not always your favorite, but you can appreciate them!
