What's everyones favorite foreign band? By, "foreign band" I mean a band that sings in another language other than English.
My favorite foreign band is a French bubble pop band called Superbus. Their song, "Radio" is featured in the game Guitar Hero 3 in the song store.

Rammstein are awful imo. Well, I suppose it's easier to like them if you don't understand the lyrics though.
Now as for foreign artists I like:
Catherine Ribeiro (France), Tone Steine Scherben (Germany), Witthüser & Westrupp (Germany), Gal Costa (Brazil), Los Planetas (Spain), Rokia Traoré (Mali), Denki Groove (Japan), etc. etc.
The lyrics of all those are in their native tongue, it seems, however, that I mostly know non-English/American bands which either sing in English anyway or don't have any lyrics at all.

Actually, Rammstein isn't an emo band, they're actually a NDH-Metal or Industrial metal band.
And my favorite vocalist of all time, that includes English ones, is Edith Piaf, probally the most famous French vocalist. My favorite song of hers is,"Non, je ne regrette rien" which means, "No regrets" which was one of the last songs she sang.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9eH0nmy0ogVideo is from the movie about her life.

Ah, Rammstein is awesome. I know the lyrics and not all of their songs are as strange as some. Still, to each his own. Rammstein is the only band I listen to that plays in another language, but another cool band based in Finland is Lordi. They are a rock group with influences from KISS and Twisted Sister. I've also heard a bit of a band from Japan called Dir En Grey. They are okay, too.

Shaka...ya about to hate me <,< But Lordi live is damned awesome. God bless Ozzy and his creation of OzzFest, they're one of the most ramped up and invigorating bands to see live. The front man is a good performer as well as him and the rest great musicians.
But personally, Maximum the Hormone and Finntroll are two of my favorite non english bands. Maximum the Hormone being mainly Japanese-death metal. And Finntroll...oddly...Finnish folk death metal. Both are different, but great in their own respects.

No hate. I did see Lordi live when they toured with Type O Negative. First I had heard of them, but of course I bought the CD (The Arockalypse) and got it signed by all of the members. I hope they come back to the U.S. sometime. I'll have to look into those two you listed.
EDIT: How can you not laugh at the first one?!

Decent music, but that guys face at the microphone!
Finntroll had an interesting video to say the least. Definately a twist on most of the metal I listen to.

You might have an advantage do to the fact that "Mr. Lordi" wouldn't take his costume off. Might pass out from heat exhaustion.

Did you know they made a movie? It's called Dark Floors. I don't know if it's any good, but I do want to see it. I'm pretty sure it came out already, but I don't know if it has hit the U.S. yet.

Really? Kickass, if it's by them then I'm guessing it's probably pretty campy. But hell, that's what makes the great ones great.
And I dunno about the drinking thing...never went up against a mythological beast singer =P

If Utada Hikaru counts, then her. If not, then idk. jay chou? bollywood bands? I'm indian, so i listen to a lot of that stuff. and anime openings and ends are pretty awesome too, though those are more foreign genres. the problem is that i don't really listen to foreign bands, just random songs.

I don't really have a favorite from anywhere, just passing infatuations. Mio Myo is from Germany but for some reason they sing in English. Dope Stars Inc. is from Italy, I think, but they sing in English too.
Sigur Ros isn't too bad; they hail from the land of Bjork.
Shonen Knife out of Japan is pretty good.

ohh, from the topic i was going to pick a canadian band or something since that's technically "foreign" for me ... but for non-english music, probably all i even listen to might be bjork. the icelandic versions of "lazytown" songs are pretty catchy too

Foreign for me would be Megadeth (I'm British lol)
But for non-English speaking I would go for Kaizers Orchestra.
It's a rock band from Norway, if you take the lyrics in English they sound kind of generic, they sound so much better in Norwegian.
