Personally, I love Marilyn Manson's work. He is a musical genius, most of his songs have a deep meaning about religion and humanity itself. So, I want to know who likes his music or just the man himself. He's coming close to my town for the 'Valentine's Day Massacre' show at Saltair. F yeah I'm going!

I don't think you could classify Mechanical Animals as "industrial goth metal"...or at least not metal...Personally I don't think he's ever gained the heights achieved from Antichrist Superstar...Especially since his band just kept breaking up from then on...Are there still original members besides him now? I didn't dig on his last album that much...

Most of his covers are pretty good, though. Though I like the original Sweet Dreams a bit more...

Not my cup of tea personally. I prefer Deathstars - now that is proper stuff!

I find them to be more true to the art form that is industrial goth.
But I must admit I love the shock value Marilyn provides the conservative US on a constant basis!

i am a bigger fan of his earlier work, portrait of an american family (which i recently got my hands on) had some really cool messages, and My Monkey is just a great song... anti-christ superstar was a little too... umm i guess angry is close. not that that's bad, it just doesn't fit my moods that often. i gotta say that holy wood is by far my favorite album, just overall, even if i like the messages from the earlier stuff.

oh, and i really don't like his latest album. he's really lost his touch i think.

Yeah, Manson is pretty badass. Saw him in concert once and it was sweet. Good mosh pit. Holy Wood is probably my favorite album. One of these days I'll get around to his book...

some of the music is okay. he's such a poser though, i find it pretty annoying. and i hated his covers of tainted love and personal jesus. sweet dreams was pretty good though

that's exactly my point. i prefer bands looking to make good music, not cashing in with some ridiculous image. making money doesn't mean the music is good, just listen to all the shit that's played on the radio

Marylin Manson is a good artist, a bit weird maybe, but some of those songs.... perfect and perfectly weird.
