yes i know its a lot of quotes but deal anyway as a die hard punk fan i gotta put my foot down on this one first of as stated bands like blink 182 and sum 41 are not punk lol and neither is the who though a cool band not punk secondly to say that a new punk band wouldn't have anything to write about politicaly is ignorant srry but it is seriously do you even watch the news XD thirdly to add some not extremely well known bands to the punk list you got black flag, the stooges, even the velvet underground (kinda), the dead kennedys, gbh, mdc, the exploited all good punk bands
and as far as the thread topic goes my favorite drummer is tim alexander of primus he might not be the fastest or have the most complicated riffs but he's got a truely unique style and is deffinatly not lacking in tallent
Travis Baker because i like rap and rock and he does rock remixes and also ?uestlove for his work with the Roots which is one of my favorite groups

Edit: I know not everyone will agree with me, but I just can't understand the hype about Joe Jordison. I'm not a drummer, but I consider myself to have some basic knowledge and I don't find his older and recent work to be neither interesting nor astoundingly skillful.

yeah , some people go with popularity , and i guess they misslead best with ''popular''
i dont like liquid tention or dream theather but i must say they are top shape musicians, as for myself my favorite drummer is the one from emperor, trym . hes just amazingly skilled and brutal, my taste thats all..
oh and for joey from slipknot, well, he's good but, he does'nt belong in a best drummer list,

Yeah, I saw a video of him recently and what you say is right, it's just insane. And yes, he has been mentioned but only briefly.
