Anyone 'round this place use Last.fm?
If y'r not aware of what it is, then I shall explain.
It's a music-based website. They provide you with scrobbling software for a variety of music-playing programs. Basically, whenever you listen to music on y'r computer the track is recorded in your online profile. Gives you a nice overview of what you've been listening to. You can add friends and what-not, compare musical tastes and stuff. It's neat.

I'm astonished to think that no one here uses their PC as a music player often enough to care about their own listening habits!

i have a huge music collection so i generally just play what i want to hear but for the times when i just want to hear any music and not necessarily my own, i use pandora. its quite nice. i really should give last.fm a try

In order of my favorite to least favorite I'd go like so...

1. SYL
2. City
3. The New Black
4. Alien
5. Heavy As a Really Heavy Thing

SYL is probably the heaviest album they have next to City... and that's what I go for, for the most part. HAARHT is just an early work, Devin hadn't developed their sound quite yet. Alien and The New Black seem to reflect more of Devin's other band, The Devin Townsend Band... They have a lot more variety and weirdness. But hey, if you like Alien and The New Black a lot... I would recommend listening to The Devin Townsend Band, especially "Ziltoid the Omniscient" and "Synchestra."

i've yet to check out The New Black or "Heavy.." yet but I know imma be content with the stuff I got

i use it, and like it. but i like pandora radio (http://www.pandora.com/) better... they just need to make a downloadable player.

Pandora offers more musical preference by using the Music Genome project. It's really interesting.

I'd recommend it over Lastfm.
